How important is lighting for ovulation

Im having a hard time controlling my light cycle for my pair of BPs
They seem to be hooking up quite abit. But I was just wondering how if my chances were still good with out being able to give them 13- 14 hours of night time. I have witnessed my male hooked up with the female on several ocassions,more than once a day on seperate ocassions.
