OK.. I just bought 2.1 ball pythons as a rescue-type thing. The guy had no clue how to take care of them; had them all in a 55g tank with a CHE and no belly heat, and dirty water and... pine shavings.
The female and larger male are roughly 4' each, a little light. The little male is about 2.5 feet and around 422 grams. I didn't get a chance to weigh the bigger 2 becuz they needed a fast soak.
The bigger male had a ton of retained shed on him. I merely soaked him in a rubbermaid for a few hours, and the crap came off so easily in py hands. Poor guy just needed humidity. He has a parfect white belly all the way down.
The female's eye was pretty much concave at first, she was so dehydrated. You can see the eye moving around under the retained eyecap though, so there should be no permanent damage.
So all in all, I got three BPs and a nice 55g tank, plus heavy wooden stand, for $200.
I am basically treating them as I would imports; letting them settle in.
Any advice on acclimation would be greatly appreciated!
