I built a 6X4 ft. cage a year and a half ago. Could have been 8x4 with the wood I bought. I even had custom plexiglass ordered for the front of it. Hinges, screws, sustrate (cypress mulch). All was about $134. For decor, I found some huge bedrocks that about gave me a hernia!!! (Don't try this at home kids). I also took a hand saw into a wooded area and trimmed off some nice branches off a dead fall tree. Creativity can save you a LOT of money. My only downfall was that the cage was 4 ft tall, which made heating it less efficient.
If you are good with planning, you can even make it sectional, so it can be torn down and stored when not in use anymore.
Hope this helps,
Tim
