This link may help answer some of your questions. I was under the impression that the number of eggs in each clutch would vary and that if the female got dystocia she would degrade in health relatively quickly. Seems like you've been this route before, but are you giving her calcium glubionate drops during her gravid periods? Hope you are wrong about the dystocia!
