My Boa has a very aggressive feed response but is the tamest and calmest snake otherwise..I always handle her before I feed her. I put the rat in the cage while she is out so when I put her back in her food is already there..She never sees my hand with food in it ever. Her rats magically appear in her cage while shes out havin fun..

If you use your hand to put the rat in be sure to wash off the rat smell before you go pick up your snake again to put her back(though you prob. already know this)..Anyway just a suggestion
