Sounds like you have the handling part down.
It is my belief that if you own snakes you must own a snake hook and 18" feeding tongs. This is how you protect yourself from getting bit. If your boa is acting agressive or hungry.....A snake hook will let them know it is not feeding time.
I can't stress these items enough.
