>>I just wanted to get some opinions on this girl. To me, she is the perfect definition of a pastel.

I think she is for sure! That is a PERFECT example of a pastel anery!

>>She definately has an overall reduction of black. My question for all of you is, would you consider her a pastel if she doesn't come from a proven line of pastels?

I would call her a pastel for sure. It is my belief (I think it to be fact) that there are many lines of pastels out there. Some starter lines.......Others getting close to "perfection". The thing is (and why the pastel label is so confusing) some will be selling animals as pastels.....Which are not even close IMHO. Others will be selling nice normals that blow away some of the nicest pastels. I really think there are "grades" of pastels. It really is a buyer beware market. Pastels are a line bred trait. So, again my opinion, if you buy two nice boas and breed them. You are likely to have a pastel baby in there. You raise that baby up........And keep on doing the same thing. This type of breeding brings about a selective look. Thus producing cleaner animals with an overall reduction of black.

I'm taking the long way home to answer your question. LOL!

My assumption is that the baby you bought was a killer one out of the litter. It is far past looking like a "starter" pastel. That animal is almost perfection. I won't say it's perfect because it's not mine. LOL!

I would say that even though it is not from a proven line. You have an awesome looking pastel anery. And, if it's not from a proven line........It is now your line that you can build on.

Hope I didn't muddy the water. Too little sleep last night.

John
