....with every generation that an intergrade is bred back to either spp. then the likelihood of the other spp having influence on the offspring diminishes. I agree with you, but Madam Blueberry(the mother of the snake in question) has more than likely never seen a diamond...neither have any of her relatives in the last few generations.
