At one time or another both patternless and blizzards were (mistakenly)called leucistic. Neither patternless not blizzard are true leucistic by the genetic definition (which has to do with not having any melanine). As I understand it there is no leucistic leo yet. So if you see a leo labeled "Leucistic" at Petco the only thing you can really be sure of, is that it's NOT a leucistic. LOL.

Patternless and blizzards come in a range of hues and some of them overlap so sometimes it is hard for even an expert to tell visually which it is.
