The big downside to those you describe on ebay are that they have vents on the top. this will make them very hard to heat and keep the humidity controlled. One thing you want to focus on cages is to put the vents on the bottom. Heat rises and will go right out of those vents, and carry every last drop of humidity with it. They would need to be covered.
