You should have the minimum of two hides--one to go on the warm end, one to go on the cool end. It's even better if you can put a third hide to go in the middle.



The 10-20 gallon size Zoomed UTH gets REALLY hot, so make sure you've got it plugged into a dimmer or thermostat especially if you're using a thin layer of substrate.
