Hi everyone,
We've been researching boas for awhile now, just kind of waiting for the time to be right to finally get our own. We're finally going to bring home a 4' rescue sometime next week. She was neglected in her previous home, but has put on weight in her foster home and is doing well. She's a very sweet snake.
I plan on feeding her pre-killed prey. After reading about it, it seems like the best thing for both the prey and the snake. But this snake has been eating live prey all her life. Is there a chance I'll have trouble converting her to the pre-killed. And, if so, what's the best way to go about getting her to eat it?
I'm planning on buying her food bulk from reptiledirect.com - frozen rats 25 at a time. Of course, I know to thaw them and let them warm up before feeding them to her, but I also know freezing some foods takes vitamins out of them. Do I need to give her a vitamin supplement? And, if so, what kind?
I think I have everything else under control, but if you have any futher tips or advice for me before we bring her home, please speak up! ----- ~Alika~ 1.0.0 green iguanas 0.1.0 cockatiels 1.0.0 senegal parrots 0.1.0 blue-fronted amazons 0.0.1 red belly piranha
