Right...do the above and don't give up hope. On 12/4 we had two of our corns escape. Found one on 12/27 (as we were coming in the house both with our hands full). He was in the middle of the floor trying to strike - pretty funny actually. We're still waiting for the other to show up though. You could also try putting flour or something similar around the edges of the room/cage/food so that if they cross the line you can tell which way they were going. Good luck!
