I have a cornsnake that is around a year old I guess. (around 2-3 feet long) She has always ate great, ever since she was a baby. All of the sudden the past few weeks she stopped eating. I have no idea why. She still comes out and moves around the cage at night like she's hungry and hunting or something, but then she wont eat. I have tired live and prekilled. What could be wrong with her? what signs should I look for? thanks.
First thing are you sure it's a female? I've seen lots of talk about males going off feeding this time of year because they want to mate. Also what are the temperatures in the cage? Has anything changed? Just another thought if you've been feeding her f/t before how long have the mice been frozen (aka do you buy a lot at a time and keep them in your freezer). I had an adult female go off feed for a month with no apparent reason. When my boyfriend had a small rat out for the monitor she was smelling it - put her in a tub with the rat and she went at it like no other. Took a mouse for me this week no problem. You could always try a f/t rat pinkie or pup (depending on what your corn can handle). I'm sure others will chime in. Look through the forums here though - there are definately other posts about this and I'm sure there are lots on the one subforum.
