As it's been said, if it's a male it's probably looking for a mate. what are your temps? (hot/cold side). how long is your snake, how big of an enclosure is it in? I would try putting it in a smaller container at night, cover with a paper towel, and DONT TAKE A PEEK until the morning. remove all vibrations possible, don't bug it. just get in there to change water and thats it.
