Eastern indigo has a "black phase" which has no red on face, chin, or throat. But it generally has some light coloring on chin and throat. You need a Federal permit for interstate transport if commerce is involved. Many states have own permit requirements because of Eastern's status as a Federally threatened animal. Some Texas indigos are darker than others, but all have yellow to salmon coloring on chin and throat. May go back quite far.
