I wouls suggest taking him to the vet anyway, just to be on the safe side. My adult male was wheezing a little bit and I too didn't think it was an RI from what I had read, but it did turn out to be the very early stages of one and I got the meds. for him and he recovered VERY quickly since it was caught so early..
