Very pretty new snake!! I believe the reason your baby went to ground was because of the meal size and it just could not perch comfortably.



I would consider the meal size very carefully for your gtp babies and feed too small rather than too large a meal if necessary. Prolapses are a very possible side effect of feeding too large a meal with gtps.



My adult gtps ground themselves somewhat regularly, usually when going into shed when they hang out under the cork bark on moist substrate..... but.... my babies generally perch on branches or bark and the only time I see them on the floor is in the evenings when they may be cruising hoping that food will appear.
