RI's are very serious, and although some suggest that simply increasing the temps can cure an RI, I tend to disagree. Even with prescribed medications, there are times when RI's take there toll. It is NOT uncommon for chondros to die very quickly when RI's take over. I would recommend you taking your chondro to a knowledgable vet ASAP, but by your description of its current condition, this may be a bit too late. Most RI regimes take at least 30 days to complete and that's with an animal in "good condition". It always pisses me off when some one sells a person a chondro (more than likely a wild collected animal) unloads it quickly because they only live for about a month's time for they usually do come down with either lethal RI's or die from internal parasites.
