The term, which is defined as "adapted for seizing or grasping especially by wrapping around" does in no way imply that it is healthy for an animal to support its entire weight by the tip of its tail. The term "prehensile" only means that an animal can use its tail to grasp or wrap around an object. It has no bearing on the animals ability to support its own weight by performing such feat. | ||
