I meant to type "there really is NOT much of a smell at all" - need to proof better
>>and found babies in the morning that were born during the night. To me, there really is much of a smell at all....and it certainly isn't unpleasant. If you have ever been at the birth of puppies, kittens or foals, it's about the same. There is a distinctive scent, but I actually find it rather pleasing. The appreciation you feel for the mother boa and the wonder of all those babies, cancels out any negatives, believe me!! I suppose if newborn boas were to sit for many hours in the fluid, it might start to smell strongly, just as many "organic" things would.
