Carpondros-What do you think?

The best carpondro that I have seen was created by a male IJ and a female chondro. You can see it at Yasser's site, www.spitfirereptiles.com. Most of the carpondros have used female carpets and there does seem to be a difference.

That said, the price is high because they are a novelty. Same thing with ball/blood hybrids and angolan/ball hybrids. If you want one, it's cheaper and more fun to buy an adult of each and make them yourself.

Whats everybody think about hybridizing? Is it good or bad?

It is OK if done for the right reason. If a specific look is desired or if a specific trait would do well in another species. And the breeder has an ethical responsibility to sell only to trustworthy individuals who will NEVER release such an animal into the wild and potentially disrupt the ecosystem. That isn't a big concern with carpondros in the US but could be in Indonesia and Australia. And it could be an issue with colubrids here in the US.
