The alife, bah-1000 and the zoo-med thermostats are made in the same factory. Personally I would say there are better options out there. The proportional from BA, the Johnsons, ranco, herpstat, and helix. In the field of thermostat you do get what you payfor so making a good decision is really important. I personally like a thermostat with a digital readout so I know whats going on inside the cage.
