hey, im looking to get either a argus monitor, or a colombian rt boa, just some questions.

1 should i get a baby or adult. males get smaller right

2 is a 48' by 18' by 18' a good size tank for a full grown male.

3 i heard they eat rabits, could i just give him like 2 jumbo rats instead.

4 are they nice(tame) like bc im turning 16 when i get him so would i be able 2 handel him( i work at a reptile place on li(FAUNA SOCITY)AND I GET OUT THE 12 FT BURMS ARE THEY AS NICE AS THEM BC THE BURMS ARE SO NICE.

5 WHAT IS THE BEST SUBSTRATE, IS carpet good

6 how much do they cost is ther any good looking morphs i could get for under 500

7 who is a good breeded to get at then narbc show.

Some of my answers....

1 Yes....You could probably get either sex and their size and either are very handleable. Not to mention there are some localitys that stay smaller

2 Yes, that would be perfect. You could always go bigger as well.

3 Sure. Not a problem. They stay small enought that you could just feed them colossal rats. It's just easier to feed larger prey items and some say more nutritional.

4 Depends on if you handle them. Usually they are pretty mellow snakes to begin with. But it all depends on the individual animal and what you think is mellow.

5 Carpet is a negative! Too hard to clean and harbors bacteria. You would be better off with plain old newspaper or shredded Aspen.

6 Yes, there are plenty of nice animlas that you can pick up for 500 and under. You can get a hypo now for almost half that price.

7 There are plenty of good ones out there(not sure who is going to be at the NARBC show. Not to mention I haven't bought from too many to make a recommendation. Talk to each one see what they have to say and determine from your own instinct and the animals they have, who you would buy from.

Hope this helps. Good luck!!
