Regarding SCI and HSUS, both groups are highly political and influential. SCI has some very well educated persons aboard, who are advocates of sustainable harvests of big game species, who advocate spending 10's of thousands of $ in trophy fees so wildlife management agencies have some funds to manage herds and politicians... As a herpetoculturalist, you probably have more in common with SCI and the NRA than you do with the HSUS. I do not want this wonderful Drymarchon forum to become too political and alienate people, so if you want more perspective, shoot me an E-mail. I don't think I can make you like SCI, but perhaps I could persuade you to tolerate them. Doug T. and others who have endured political attacks on their pursuit of happiness can understand why various esoteric groups need someone to advocate for them.
