Posted by: tamlin at Sun Mar 27 01:16:33 2005 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by tamlin ] my green basilisk hasnt hunted for food on his own for 3 months. it started ever since he moved into a much bigger terrarium with more plants and branches. at first it was because of stress and i tried every thing imaginable to spark his appetite. this is not to say he doesnt eat, he only eats if i use chopsticks or tweezers or by hand. and you have to put it in front of his face and wriggle it around and eventually he will eat it, but soometimes hes not interested and moves his head away. often times hell eat every other day and only one or two bugs. what weirds me out is that i have every environmental concern checked out and he looks amazing. he even looks like he has a belly and when he eats he will usually poop the next day in his usual spot. the reason im concerned is that this is completely different behavior from his previous tank and im getting tired of feeding him this way. any ideas?
