Hello



The right with which this ban would infringe would be the right for the North Carolina citizens to choose with their own free will what they deem appropriate or inappropriate as a pet. I am sure many people will say "why should people have this right" it boils down to that people should not have the Government dictating what we are intelligent and capable enough to do or not do, and also base that assumption upon inaccurate statistical information. The past few years more and more rights that Americans are to hold dear and cherish have been eroded, Government has deemed the average person is incapable of changing a channel on Television, or turning the nob on their radio so they take the right to choose what you watch or listen to away, now with this proposed issue it is another attempt to remove the right to choose.



If this ban will be pushed for passage then why not include domestic dogs and cats? Dogs attack people frequently enough that it is a million dollar a year insurance problem, and cats which are irresponsibly allowed to roam outdoors decimate natural occuring animals.



If legislation must be pushed for regarding the ownership of exotics then there is no reason not to implement something similar to the Florida permitting system, this builds revenue for the State, puts checks and balances in place for the animals with which have the potential to injure someone, and allows the Citizens of North Carolina the ability to still make their own choice.
