I don't know if this is normal or not, but my female JCPxDiamond is always hungry.
A day does not go by that she is not wanting food. She is currently 17 months old, about 5' long and eating 1-2 small/medium rats every week. I don't mind feeding her more, but she is pretty sedentary... Besides eating, she only comes down from her perches to 1) go to the bathroom, and 2) get some water. But even going to the bathroom lately is getting a little long. She is constantly dropping white pellets, but maybe once every 3-4 weeks, she'll drop a full load..
Her basking temp is about 110, and the ambient cage temp is about 79... Humidity fluctuates between 50-80% depending on when I mist her cage.
Everytime you walk by her cage, she gets SUPER alert and follows your every movement, not I can't even get into her cage without my hook...
Is it common for JCPs to want to feed so heavily, or is it something I'm doing? I was thinking about offering her larger food souces, but her head is still pretty small, it's her body that is getting larger...
Also, at what age do JCP's become sexually mature??
