West Papuan clutch #4

I checked on her around 10 am this morning and she looked to be hanging on to her eggs. I check on her at 4 PM and she's beehived around her clutch! Sneaky girl!





She was well rested even and was very tense while we tried to remove the eggs. It ended up uneventful....she was only tense, not angry I guess.





In the end we got this:



25 eggs total= 1033 grams

20 fertile= 933 grams

5 infertile= 99.75 grams



Ellie is our second largest female at a bit over 7 feet at 5.5 years of age. She's got a bright future at this rate! For a West Papuan, I am amazed. This was her first clutch!
