Some signs of a gravid boa are visible swelling in lower half, animal appearing more stretched out with scales stretched showing the skin underneath, gradual thinning of neck area, heat reserve position (coiled on top of itself), constantly looking for heat, nasty attitude, and refusing food.
Usually after a boa ovulates and becomes gravid, they have what is known as a post ovulation shed or P.O.S., and more than likely babies are born about 105-110 days later.
This is not always the case.. it doesn't 'have to' happen.
Just the same, some tend to shed a short time prior to giving birth ... most don't, but some do.
