We have a new ball python that we have had for a little over a week. We got him on March 25. This is the 4th or 5th day in a row that he has stayed in his hide and not came out. He has also not shown much of an interest in eating. He shys away from the rat the couple of times that we have tried putting him in the cage with the rat. We are not sure whether it is a male or female. I'm not sure if that would matter.

Thanks in advance,
Shannon
