Sounds like a tick - I just got a ball today that had some - free of charge (luck y me). Most likely your ball is a WC or has been housed with/near some. I've found the best way to get rid of them is to soak the snake in Reptile Releif then they pull off pretty easy - you want to be careful when removing ticks because you can pull them apart and the head will stay lodged in the snake. Also if the snake has ticks theres a good chance at internal parasites too. May be time for a fecal.
