Like Joe said, why not leave them with mom?

Only if you use the fan model will it be harder to keep up the humidity. I have used the fan model successfully without an inner chamber. I needed to add less than half a cup of water about once every 10 days. Right now, I use multiple hovabators with the fan disconnected and still do not use an inner chamber. Although, I now use styrofoam fish boxes as the bottoms. They hold more vermiculite, eggs and moisture.

Again, if you are new to this, I recommend leaving the eggs with mom. Just ensure they are not directily exposed to heat.
