Something just happend to my Basilisk..

I had taken out his water bowl so I could wash it in the dish washer and I was putting it back and noticed that his legs were like trembling. I didn't know what was going on so I picked him up to see and his entire body just started to shock. I put him down, he's calm now, he isn't shaking. His heart is pounding like nothing i've ever seen. What did I do?
