I have no "conclusive proof" that this has a positive effect on the babies except to say, that in my experience with hatching reptiles, and not just boids, and not just snakes either,.. that the offspring one hatches out allowing them to smell you do appear to "imprint" a greater recognition and a lesser fear overall than those that are not interacted with right away. So yes, in my opinion this is much better towards resulting in having tamer babies sooner.
