But it is infact not a true EYE. It is more of an adapted scale. There is a cluster of light-sensitive cells on top of the lizards brain. They are located just below a small hole in the skull. This third "eye" helps the lizard to regulate the its body temperature and exposure to the sun. [ Hide Replies ]
