My hovabator as been running for two weeks prior to deposition and holding steady at between 88.7-91.3 degrees. My eggs are 7 days old and have been holding an inner egg chamber temp of 89-91.

Well last night, and I have no idea why, the box spiked???? My min max temp only read 91.7 but when I temp gunned the eggs some were 90 , two were at 93!!!

I imediatly dropped the box temp this morning and went into work late to make sure it dropped enough. They are all back to 89.9-90.3 degrees.

I guess my concern is, will 93 degrees for, I guess seven hours, from 11 last night to 645 this morning, deform the embryos?

I keep reading over and over that optimal range is 88-91 and that over or under may not necessarily kill the eggs but it can cause deformaties. Is that only when it's constantly over or under? Am I over reacting? and the hovabator is only a year old with a replaced heat disc in it, but should I junk it what could make it spike like that?

Thanks for any opinions-
