You still shouldn't handle them as they are very stressed by it. They are fresh water and do need acidic ph 6.0-6.5. If you are serious about keeping them you should get your tank setup now so that is well established. Keeping these snakes is much more like keeping tropical fish. They don't acclimate well and most wild caught snakes don't live more then six months. When they do acclimate, they breed readily. They are available once every two or three years. When they are, you'll find them for sale in classifieds here, also I know that Glades herp usually will get them.If you see any captive bred available, you better snatch 'em up before I do! | ||
