For the filter use an internal filter.

keep the water about 6 inches from the top of the tank (since they cant move very well outside water)....in this 6 inche space you can have potho vines growing around. the snakes like to hide in the roots and pothos grow new roots at every leaf.

i heard that they like temps around 75 degrees.

freshwater,acidic water,slow moving water.

they are ambush predators so the eat any minnow that gets near them and by instinct they can eat more than what fits in them.
