BCCs

i just wanted to know do u guys that keep bccs use heat pads and heat lamps at the same time for heat. what is the difference between air temperature and hot spots. im so confused some people tell me a heat lamp is enough and other say u need heat lamp n pad. i have a peruvian boa.
