To sell this snake for the $15 it is worth, she would have to buy a non-game collectors permit. Those are around $25. Then she could only sell it to someone with a non-game dealers permit. If she couldn't find a someone with a dealer's permit to sell it to, she would need a dealer's permit herself ($60). Therefore it could cost her up to $60 to sell a $15 snake, if she could find a buyer.
Did your friend feed the snake? If not, that lump represents a substantial meal, probably a mouse. This means there are probably mice in the house as well as TX ratsnakes. ----- Chris Harrison
