I also take back what I said about him being anti-social!
Bernie was making her rounds yesterday, feeding the reptiles, toting her trash can full of crickets. She was also dusting crickets and had a sack full of dust. She stopped at Apollo's cage, opened his door, set the container of crickets down, and started selecting crickets to dust.
Next thing you know, Apollo had climbed into the trash can and was shooting crickets right off the egg crate. Very happy guy. When he had his fill, I reached down to put him back in his cage and he happily climbed up on my hand. His colors were bright but he wasn't being aggressive. No swaying, no hissing, no mouth agape. Just a happy being, in his own element.
So yes, Apollo is a very appropriate name for him. He exhibits nice, bright colors, actively hunts and drinks. He's VERY happy in the sun. Completely different animal indoors. Dark, ugly colors and just mopes in the corner. ----- Victor Gomez
