Has any ever heard of anything worse?

I am sure you have

I just got back from the coast here in Texas. We met my parents and spent the night at a nice beach house in the small town of rockport Texas. While taking a quick drive we passed a shady little building that was a crapy mom n pop book store/warehouse that had a small sign on a side door that said "snake hut" with a hand written open sign duct taped to the front door. My stepfather was driving and kindly pulled in so I could take a look. I had to go through the "bookstore" which was more like someones dusty garage. I saw a guy in the back and went through an inside door that had a sign saying you had to be 18 to enter. About the time I was inside the room the guy came in and said it was his nephews attempt at a pet shop. He said there were 2 lizards and a snake for sale. The place was dimly lit and I mean DIRTY. There wer about 10 empty dirty cages and aquariums stacked in no order. I do not want to hear what happened to what was in them. I found the 3 enclosures that had life in them. There were 2 hand made cages about 30 gallons with monitors in them for $59. and in the back of the room was a 10 gallon with a tree boa curled up in some dirty bark and a tree. I am not sure when it shed but the whole shed was still in there.

I did not ever find out how much the snake was, the guy could not get a hold of his nephew. I would have liked to seriously talked the kid out of that wretched little place. The animals did not look completely sick yet but with that much neglect it won't be long. I would have liked to do a rescue but my hands are full with the boa rescue project i am already into. I only hope the kid sells those poor animals or quickly learns how to take care of them.

In the end I was only able to give the book guy a piece of my mind as my parents and wife were dragging me away.

You can't save em all.
