All bairdi are attractive snakes. However, my experience is that the further west you go, the less color you get coming in between the scales and the more gray the snake is overall.

I have also noticed that most bairds from the northern parts of the range show more red, while from further south they are more yellowish. When you get into Coahuila, they are yellowish snakes with a purple/gray head. I prefer the snakes from the NE part of the range, although the ones from the easternmost boundaries are pretty nice as well.
