Hi Erin,

Sorry about delay in reply - sort of took a computer break on Sunday - was nice

Funny you mention the Bone-aid. Sonia (Luna's "mom" had recently emailed me about this product concerning Luna. I had never heard of it. I looked it up and their recommendation is one drop per week. Keep in mind that it does not have D3, but they have a product called Solar drops that is D3. I am considering it for Luna, b/c I can get calcium into her but no d3 unless it is via injection from vet or dut and when she doesn't eat...well. I do think D3 (given artifically) can become toxic at high levels so it is something i need to investigate further before trying.

I know your "good" vet is quite a distnace but maybe if you started with a phone consult and then brought her for a blood test, fecal test and general check up. This way you would know if she is clean of parasites, what her calcium level is, chekc for signs of infection and maybe a calcium injection. Just a thought. Are your folks taking her outisde on Sunny days? That should help, too

Luna is doing...well, what Luna does - drive her mom crazy! I had her in the sun the other day for 3 hours, but it has been cold and rainy. She is getting her daily showers and her hydration seems better. Still not eating much but a few 1/2" silkies I have for Darwin, so I ordered a few larger to see if I can get her to eat them. Her limbs are a mess. She will get her blood test on Thursday to see how the calcitonin injection worked.

Thanks

lele
