Your cage size is plenty large enough. The temps need to be cooler than with a lot of other snakes. I keep mine in the coldest part of the snake room with high temps in the middle of summer seldom exceeding 75F. They should have a quiet cave with some moistened media in it for hiding during the day. Typically adults will be large enough to eat small rats comfortably and will reach 6-9 ft. They are a thinner looking Asian rat, so they don't look as long as Blue Beautys or Taiwans when full grown even though their length may be identical.
The price you mentioned is pretty cheap. Cheap enough to make me wary of that purchase. I'd be sure that the seller actually has what they are advertising and it is in good health. If you're not sure, you would probably be better off going with a reputable breeder and getting a health guarantee. Good luck!

>>I'm not finding much care info on this species. Can someone give me an idea of required temps and cage size for an adult? I have a 48lx24wx12h cage - is that enough?

>>What size prey do adults eat? I've never seen one in person so I don't know how 'thick' they get.

>>Also, I've found an ad where someone is offereing a 2004 for only $45 plus shipping. This seems a lot lower than prices I've seen before.

>>Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
