Length isn't the best of measures, because it is not always
easy to get a good (and consistant) measurement. Whenever I
buy snakes from people, I don't ask them how long they are.
I got too tired of finding out that my tape measure measures
in 'big' inches, and everyone elses measures with those special
'small' inches LOL! I've had people sell me snakes claiming
they were 5' long, but when I got them they were closer to
3.5'.
What you really want to do is weigh them and track them that
way. The scale is an accurate way to track progress. When
buying, I find it handy to ask for a weight so that I won't be
surprised by a smaller than expected snake.
To specifically answer your question, I think it is unlikely
that a ball python could grow 10" in 3 months, but I guess it
isn't impossible. If you feed them heavily and often, they can
grow pretty quickly.
Best of luck to you!
