Well cricket the 6' boa was sitting on the shelf at my office today. I received a package for the guy next door. When he showed up I told him that I had a package for him and ran in to get it. I know that he does not like snakes and I have not introduced him to cricket so I wanted to grab the envelope before he made it to the door. Also I was in a hurry. The main problem was that cricket was partially curled up on the envelope. I quickly grabed it not thinking and that's when she latched on. She has been so sweet and I have never kept a snake this big so it scared the s#*$t out of me! I was not even looking when it happened and pulled away. She must have been latched on because I jerked her clean off the shelf and on to the floor. It did not hurt at first. I was mainly concerned with her. I know it was my fault that I moved way way to quickly and pulled something out from under her. She appears to be fine and gladly at for me tonight. My wrist on the other hand has quite some wounds. She hit a main veign in my wrist and it really swelled up with blood under the skin. I washed it real well and put lots of peroxide and antiobiotic on it. the swelling has gone down a little.
Has anone received a bite from accidentally disturbing their snake?
