I'm sure some experienced boa handlers will ridicule my for this...if not out loud, then at least in their minds... but, here's my story...
Years ago, A friend of mine brought over 2 good looking girls to my apt. I took my smaller boa out (3ft), and was kind of showing him off. The girls were scared and wouldn't touch it...At one point my friend was holding it, and directing myself towards the ladies I said "what are you, afraid??" and went to kiss it. And wham...He bit me right on my nose. It happened so quick I didn't even realize it had happened until a second later when I put my hand to my nose and fealt the blood there. Needless to say, I was quite embarrassed, and also needless to say...I didn't get any that night.....
I've learned to treat my animals with respect since that day. He was acting out of fear most likely more than anything else...But when I think about it...I like to think he was teaching me a lesson about respecting him and his kind and that he wasn't a toy to show off...
