It depends where you are located. The USA has the highest concentration of cases, and yet, it is still rather low. Dr.Klingenberg sees about 50 cases a year (less than one per week) and he does see a concentrated reptile caseload. Other herp vets maybe see one to two cases a year.

For practical reasons, it is best to observe quarantine with all new animals or animals that appeared at shows with lots of other animals/handling. There are other diseases that this will allow detection for as well.
